What is the best way to advertise my online store?
March 9th, 2010 | by admin |I have recently opened up an online store that sells clothing, mugs, stickers and the like. What would be some good ways of advertising for free or at little expense?
There are many ways to advertise your online store using various online marketing strategies, most important is using keyword based phrases for your website, since we think if we give less information on our website then it will save us, but it is not really correct to get more customers on your website, have good and clear images on your website, with "ALT" tags included in them, and they should not be heavy enough, as we need to remember most of the people are still not using Broadband connections.
And also Search Engine Spiders can’t see images and video’s on your website, so if you include information about them in your ALT tags and providing correct content on your website then people can easily read your website and will make you go higher on your ranking position.
Try having right Titles for your pages since we think, if we just write down products on pages as a title then, on search engine if people will look around only for pages called up as product then only it will be highlighted which shows bad impact on your website.
Also, give correct description for your web pages, since google is not the only Search Engine Available in market, there are many more like Alta Vista, Microsoft Live, Yahoo, and list goes on and on. They still read your tags and according to that they rank your website on there Search Engines.
So be prepared to do some SEO work and you are there in market, also if you think you can sell products through other websites then try collaborating with them, like Amazon, get joined in Price runner.co.uk, Google Shopping, these are some of the website addresses which can help you in setting up a descent market for you and on the basis of review you can easily get named.

I’d go for all the free options first. Social media sites! Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Digg, Stumble Upon, Delicious. I’d also try contacting some newspapers about the possibility of running an article on your site!
Then there paid methods such as advertising on-line. You could buy ads at related sites if they offer that service, you can create some Google ads using AdWords and I think Facebook and Myspace offers an Ad service too!
